A free pre-TRNSMT glitter bar for festival goers and the Glasgow BGCP Comic Con are just two of the big events lined up for The Forge Shopping Centre this summer.

Starting this weekend, revellers headed to the neighbouring TRSNMT festival on July 8 and 9 are guaranteed added sparkle for Scotland’s showpiece festival with a free glitter bar. The centre is offering to give attendees the essential festival look.

Between 12noon and 4pm, you can visit a free glitter bar being set up at The Forge, with a couple different stations within the bar. TRNSMT is being staged at Glasgow Green, which is just a few minutes from The Forge Shopping Centre.

“Bold, beautiful, and bedazzling” is usually the dress code for festivals, and The Forge’s team promises they’ll help those coming to the shopping centre with the ultimate festival look.

For those who prefer capes and superhero props over glitter and music mobs, the centre will also play host to this year’s Glasgow BGCP Comic Con on August 12 and 13.

While the full line-up is yet to be confirmed, more than 50 traders, artists, toys, crafts and meet and greets are expected.

Jade Wilkie, marketing manager at The Forge, said: “Many people will know by now that our shopping centre is passionate about offering free events that the whole family can enjoy. Not just during summertime, but all year round.

“It can be difficult for families to think of exciting activities to do with the kids – especially in the digital age where the cost of pretty much everything is increasing so much.

“The TRNSMT glitter bar and Comic Con are just two ways we hope to bring affordable fun to local families across the city. Enjoying ourselves and making memories shouldn’t have to break the bank.”

“The Glasgow BGCP promises to be a family-friendly event, so come along and ‘Marvel’ at the wonderful world of comic books. It might be a ‘Stark’ contrast to your usual summer activities, but we ‘Thor-t’ this event is a must-see.”

In addition to the TRNSMT glitter bar and Comic Con, The Forge Shopping Centre will host a mini zoo each Friday throughout July, a Barbie event on July 22 and 23, and so much more.
